About Us

Water Rescue Scotland was conceived by Ben Starkie, who brings over 25 years of experience delivering training across a wide range of sectors.

We are a team of experienced rescue professionals, consultants, guides, and instructors, all of whom are certified Rescue 3 Europe instructors. Our team has hands-on operational experience across the Fire & Rescue Service, RNLI, Mountain Rescue, and the rope access industry, giving us practical insight into the challenges faced by those working in demanding environments.

We understand that every sector faces different risks, so we tailor our training to make it relevant to your operational needs. Alongside internationally recognised qualifications, we have developed a range of bespoke skills courses, including the Wild Swimmer Safety course and the Therapeutic Cold Water Therapy Instructor course.

Our friendly, supportive approach creates an engaging learning environment where practical, realistic training builds confidence, competence, and the skills needed to work safely in and around water.
